To continue with our effort to provide an effective, modern and rofessional delivery service, we are issuing the following guidance on the notarial services we offer at our premises at the British Consulate in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and provisionally, at our Consular Surgery South located in San Eugenio, Costa Adeje.

We are also taking this opportunity to inform you about the fees charged for these services which can be paid by credit/debit card (Visa, Visa Electron and MasterCard) or alternatively in cash (Euros only).
Remember that our Consulate staff speak English and Spanish and they are very experienced in local customs and have a good knowledge of the British system.
Please note that Consulate staff are unable to give you any legal advice. However, a list of English speaking lawyers in Tenerife is available on request.

* Preparing any certificate in standard form (i.e Consular Registration Certificate, Certificates of Law, EHIC Certificate) - 50 euros
* Preparing any certificate otherwise than in standard form - 99 euros
* Attesting or legalising a signature (bank purposes, wills, private pensions, power of attorney, etc) - 40 euros
* Administering an oath or receiving a declaration or affirmation (bank purposes, wills, power of attorney, etc) - 74 euros
* Verifying a copy of a document such as a passport, driving licence, etc for banking transactions or any other purposes (First five copies) - 35 euros
* Translations of standard UK certificates such as Birth, Marriage, Death Certificates and Divorce Decree Absolute (from English into Spanish and viceversa) - 127 euros
* Receiving notice of an intended marriage - 87 euros
* Issuing a certificate that no impediment to an impending marriage exists - 87 euros
* Issuing a “certificate of coutume” for an intended marriage (Normally requested by the local authorities in Tenerife) - 87 euros
* Processing the Legalization of documents issued in the UK for their use in Spain by forwarding them to the FCO in London (Apostille of the Hague Convention) - €127 euros
* Change of Residence Certificate/ Baja Consular -174 euros
* “Still Married” Certificate (requested on specific occasions to support residence applications) 298 euros
* Certificate of “Soltería” 174 euros
* “Common Law Certificate” 174 euros
